Who we are

This website is operated by Fleet Sales NZ Limited ("Fleet Sales", "we", "us", "our"). We're a secondhand truck and fleet equipment brokerage. We sell on behalf of owners and charge a fee for the service.

  This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

We collect personal information you give us directly, mostly through our enquiry form, but also by phone, email or in person. This can include:

• Your name and contact details
• The region you're in
• Your enquiry type (selling with us, finance, or a valuation)
• Details about the equipment you want to sell, buy, value or finance
• Anything else you choose to include in your message

We don't ask for more than we need to respond to your enquiry and provide our services.

Why we collect it and how we use it

We use your information to:

• Respond to your enquiry and provide our brokerage services
• Contact and communicate with you about a sale, purchase, valuation or finance enquiry
• Keep our own business records

How your information is stored

Your contact details are held in Xero, which we use to manage contacts and communication. We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and to make sure it's accurate and up to date.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information, and we won't hand your details to marketers.

We only share personal information where it's needed to run the business or provide a service you've asked for:

• Finance enquiries. We're not a financier and don't act as one. If you make a finance enquiry, we pass your details to one or more finance providers so they can look at your enquiry and contact you. We're paid a referral fee only. By making a finance enquiry, you agree to us passing your details on for this purpose. We are not and do not act as finincaciers, we use external registered providers.
• Service providers. We may share information with third parties who support our business (for example, our accounting or IT providers), and only for that purpose.

If you click through to a truck listing on Trade Me, you leave our site and Trade Me's own privacy policy applies.

Cookies and website analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, for example how many visits a page gets and which links are clicked. This is reported to us as numbers and trends, not as identifiable individuals. Analytics tools use cookies (small files stored by your browser). You can turn cookies off in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us:

• For a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• To correct anything that's wrong
